SISLER JOHNSTON COMPLETES INSTALLATION OF
LEASING CENTER AT THE LINKS AT WINDSOR PARKE

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA – Sisler Johnston Interior Design has completed the installation of the leasing center at The Links at Windsor Parke, a luxury apartment community managed by Douglas Allred Company.

Judith Sisler Johnston, interior designer and Allied ASID member, provided the original design when the community opened in 1995. At the time, the property was owned by The Development Group and Sisler Johnson was working for Pat Thorton and Jerry Jaquot. Her original design highlighted a championship golf motif in classic, traditional style.

The Douglas Allred Company developed nearby Cape House apartments a short time later. They were so impressed with The Link’s warm and inviting environment that they also selected Sisler Johnston’s company to fulfill their interior design needs. After Allred later purchased The Links at Windsor Parke from The Development Group, they turned to Sisler Johnston again for a complete renovation project.

“The Allred Company wanted to be sure their renovation’s design was as exceptional as the original design,” Sisler Johnston said. “Our challenge was designing more than just a pretty space. We weaved a functional working office into an inviting clubhouse atmosphere.”

Sisler Johnston developed a completely new color scheme using soft, smoky topaz, henna and herbal greens in shades of basil, thyme and rosemary. She also changed the emphasis on golf to a travel theme using a traditional British Colonial motif. “Many of the residents that live here travel for business or leisure,” she said.

The fireplace is the focal point for the greeting lounge and provides a comfortable place for guests to meet with the leasing staff. Sisler Johnston chose furnishings in a soft pecan wood tone finish as well as some granite and stone pieces to complement the dark travertine tile. A topaz chenille sofa is accompanied by chairs covered in traditional British Colonial tapestries featuring palm trees or elephants. The flooring is staged with carpeting featuring a geometric grid design.

To meet the needs of the leasing staff, the greeting lounge also includes two work stations that look more like they belong in a home rather than an office. Chairs covered in tapestries replace traditional desk chairs, creating a more relaxed feeling.

The leasing center has a conference room that is also available for residential use. To meet the needs of both staff and residents, Sisler Johnston brought an ambiance into a setting ideal for a group of friends sitting around a dining room table.

The conference room walls feature a deep henna shade at the base and a soft ember glow copper above divided by a border chair rail with a wood cut relief pattern to add interest and color. Custom draperies installed at ceiling height add volume. Sisler Johnston brought a more relaxed feeling into the chairs by combining a historic map and travel motif tapestry fabric with wicker and caning. A console has turned carving, leather insert panels and nailhead trim.

Sisler Johnston also designed individual offices for the staff with quality window treatments, beautiful desks accompanied by comfortable chairs and wood cabinetry. “Although the leasing center is a functioning office, it is designed to look more like a home office,” she said.

Earlier this year Sisler Johnston completed the installation of the clubhouse and model at The Links of Windsor Parke, which offers an array of first-class amenities, four floor plans, and golf course and lake views. The community is located off of Hodges Boulevard, one mile north of Butler Boulevard.
