SISLER JOHNSTON COMPLETES PEYTON HOUSE
AT PONTE VEDRA INN & CLUB

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FLORIDA - Sisler Johnston Interior Design has completed the installation of guest rooms and suites at Peyton House at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club. Built in 1986, Sisler Johnston was the original interior designer for the project 18 years ago. "It is such a thrill for me to work on the Peyton House again," said Judith Sisler Johnston, president of Sisler Johnston Interior Design and ASID Allied Member. "It was the very first interior design and furnishings project we did for Ponte Vedra Inn and Club. It's rewarding to see the furniture we supplied 18 years ago has had such lasting value."

The renovation included complete demolition and re-design of the bath and dressing areas. Rink Reynolds provided the architectural redesign. Mike Koppenhaefer was the project architect. Brasfield and Gorrie was the general contractor.

A visitor to the Peyton House enters a guest room via a marble entry area. On the entry wall is a lighted recessed niche with a granite shelf atop a shell stone corbel detail. The inside of each niche is painted in a deep butternut tone. A faux stone architectural wall hanging, an antique replica of a bamboo clock and silk greenery accessorize this special feature.

A color palette of golden sunset tones, palm green and russet berry is woven into the custom carpets and custom printed fabrics in a tropical relief pattern. Sisler Johnston Interior Design specified all new interior finishes for the Peyton House. These include natural Flavio Italian Stone floors, Giallo Vincenza granite countertops, furnishings and soft goods which include custom designed cornices, layered blackout draperies and decorative full length drapery panels.

Sisler Johnston Interior Design selected the Tommy Bahama signature collection from Lexington Furniture for the beds, chests and desks. It was chosen for its tropical design, coastal finish and relaxed style. Half of the 38 rooms have king size beds. The other rooms have two queen sized beds. Each guest room includes a comfortable lounge chair and ottoman upholstered over an exposed stained wood frame. Custom built armoires accommodate the large screen televisions.

The baths feature large, natural golden Italian stone floors with a contrasting mosaic inset designed into the backsplash. The mosaic insert detail carries through to the walk-in shower and adjacent soaking tub. Private water closets were added to each bath.

Above each of the double sinks in the baths' dressing area, Sisler Johnston selected a carved wood, gilded molding to surround each make-up mirror. Above each mirror is a wrought iron Mediterranean-style light fixture in a distressed crackle finish. Each vanity area has a custom fabricated bench adjacent to a lighted make-up mirror and a full length elegantly framed mirror.

There are four one-bedroom oceanfront suites in Peyton House, which look and feel like a luxury condominium. They are equipped with a kitchen and entertaining bar in addition to the large foyer, living room, private bedroom and bath. The bath has an oversized Jacuzzi tub and a large dressing area.

"I consider it a privilege to call Ponte Vedra Inn and Club one of our long standing clients," Sisler Johnston said. "I thoroughly enjoy working with their staff of professionals. We held bi-weekly construction progress meetings during the months of renovation to massage every detail to insure the finest design."

A Florida landmark since the oceanfront resort opened in 1928, The Ponte Vedra Inn & Club has a five diamond rating from the Automobile Association of America.
