JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA – Sisler Johnston Interior Design announces the completion of The Key West, a Panitz Signature Homes model at The Oaks in OakLeaf Plantation.

The Key West is a spacious two-story family home with an impressive and dramatic two-story arched exterior entryway. The home has been decorated in camelback neutral tones highlighted by warm shades of brick, sage and golden accents.

The front door opens into a foyer staged with beautiful oversized stone tiles in a marbled pattern. The two-story ceiling flows beyond the double entry grand staircase into the family room, which also features an 18-foot ceiling. “The heart of this home is the family room, which opens to the kitchen, breakfast room, wine cellar and staircase,” said Judith Sisler Johnston, president and ASID Allied Member. “This home has vaulted ceilings and a lot of volume.”

To call attention to the volume ceilings and maximize the dramatic impact of the height, Sisler Johnston custom designed window dressings that cascade from the large two-story windows in the family room and breakfast room. The fossil-stone fireplace is surrounded by customized built-in cabinets finished in caramel tone maple. One side includes a bar with glass front cabinets while the other side accommodates an entertainment center with room for a large screen TV. A Persian carpet creates warmth and sets the stage for the freestanding furniture pieces, which combine mahogany wood tones with pewter iron. The family room’s sofa loveseat pair in caramel neutral tones serves as the backdrop for a play of contrasts with pillows covered in large stripes and small tapestries in shades of rosemary green and brick.

The breakfast room has a table with four arm chairs in a deep mahogany with bronze iron and onyx inlay accents. A double tier iron chandelier creates interest above the table. The granite countertops in the breakfast room complement the room’s wall coverings and fabrics as well as the noche backsplash in the gourmet kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances, matching cabinet hardware and a lighted iron pot rack. The kitchen also has a large pantry.

In the dining room, wainscoting rises to 34 inches and is painted in dove white to coordinate with the rest of the trim. A soft textured wall covering with a subtle European scroll design is used above the wainscoting. A glass top table seated on a carved stone pedestal creates a spacious and open feeling. The room’s hosts enjoy wooden armchairs featuring the scroll motif and contrasting striped seat cushions while French tapestry highlights the fully upholstered guest seating. A double-tiered iron chandelier with scavo glass adds a dramatic touch. The dining room has reggae carpeting featuring a latte colorization.

The master suite provides an expansive private retreat for the owners. The room’s honey maple furnishings highlight Emperador Brown marble tops. The centerpiece of the room is the Italian poster bed. With such an elegant backdrop, Sisler Johnston used subtle golden camelback tones in the bedcover and pillow shams. The large master bedroom includes a sitting area furnished with two lounge chairs nestled in a bay of windows. Sisler Johnston used a combination of contrasting Italian patterned upholstery and trims to create texture and interest. The adjoining master bath has a corner Jacuzzi surrounded by Italian marble tile with a marble listello inlaid pattern in the shower and surrounding the tub.

The home office is also on the main floor and features built-in bookcase cabinets surrounding a two-sided his and hers partners’ desk. The rich custom wood floors complement the mahogany furniture. The home office also accommodates a small conference table and two chairs. The room is decorated in a golfing motif with Arnold Palmer signature wall coverings in khaki and beige accented with chair rail and crown molding. The window coverings feature a rockwood green tapestry of antique golfing postcards offset by an authentic golf ball trimmed cornice and brick colored accents in the cord and trim. Art and mirrors reinforce the golf theme.

The open and flowing staircase features a Craftsman brown sculpted handrail above a deep charcoal gray iron stile. A seven-foot high mirror accented with an iron scroll overlay highlights the landing halfway up the stairs.

Upstairs is an open loft and game room as well as themed bedrooms created for a girl who enjoys music and a boy who enjoys golfing. The golf theme also continues in the upstairs game room which has custom window treatments highlighted by crisscrossed golf club accents. This spacious room features a large scroll iron and glass chandelier over the pool table, a reading chair paired accent table in the shape of a golf bag and a game table and two chairs complete with a chess set. This second story family living area also includes a homework area with computer desk and hutch.

The girl’s room uses an interesting architectural technique with applied moulding that frames the brick colored grass cloth wallpaper. The bedspread is dill green with brick accents. The boy’s room features a beadboard wainscot painted in khaki tones with a golf theme border placed on the wainscot rail and a neutral khaki on beige paper above with a golf ball motif. The custom headboard is fabricated in a Scottish plaid surrounded by a putting green solid accent fabric. Accent pillows reinforce the golfing motif. The nightstand is painted in putting green as well, while the hand-painted dresser features a brick color Scottish plaid.
