SISLER JOHNSTON COMPLETES COMMUNITY
CLUBHOUSE AT PALM COAST PLANTATION

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA – Sisler Johnston Interior Design has completed the installation of the Community Amenity Center at Palm Coast Plantation.

The spacious clubhouse features a Florida Low Country architectural design by Powers & Merritt, Inc. Sisler Johnston worked closely with their team to coordinate interior and exterior finishes and features.

"We provided concept drawings for interior architectural details that were added to the ceiling, walls and millwork," said Judith Sisler Johnston, president of Sisler Johnston Interior Design and ASID Allied Member. "The owner wanted a classic, yet casual, island tropical ambiance incorporated into the design of the furnishings."

The clubhouse features a spacious entry foyer and a community room with a carved mahogany wrap around bar and granite countertops as well as a gas fireplace with recessed art niche above. There is genuine bamboo flooring in the foyer and sisal patterned carpets in the community room. The walls are painted in warm sesame highlighted by faux wicker wall coverings.

The furnishings blend a variety of collections that characterize island colonization, including French, English and tribal accents. A large, hand-painted entertainment armoire depicts native village life in tropical antiquity. Black fabric upholstery accents add dramatic contrast to the sisal, palm green and cinnamon color palette. Layers of imported cord, tassels and trim frame the window dressings and strengthen the natural geometry of the room's architecture.

The clubroom is equipped with a full-service bar, entertainment area and billiard room. A state-of-the-art exercise facility has been provided. An Olympic sized swimming pool with sun and protected patios encompasses the Clubhouse. There is also a themed poker room and fully furnished management office. The clubroom's design illustrates the use of zoning in space planning for three unique purposes. The room accommodates (1) refreshment bar with bar armchairs, (2) entertainment lounge with large screen media center and (3) billiards area with a mahogany regulation table.

Large scale, five-foot wide rustic iron and Italian scavo glass chandeliers and island tropical ceiling fans add impact and layer the design of each area with interest and light. The owner added upgraded materials into the design, including the extensive use of stone flooring inside the clubhouse and flowing out onto the patios and porches. The

flooring helps blend together the outdoor and indoor lifestyles.

The pool and patio furnishings feature a powder-coated wrought aluminum in a vintage bronze finish with sling style tropical fabrics. With impressive fountains and beautiful lake views, Sisler Johnston chose neutral furnishing colors to frame the spectacular view rather than compete with it.
