The living room and dining room highlight an elegant Mediterranean décor with mellow pecan tone furnishings, bronze and iron glass-top tables and tropical accents displayed in the tapestries featuring palm trees and pineapples. The dining room table with seating for eight is inviting. Chairs accompanying the table combine doeskin leather and suede for texture.
Sisler Johnston used shades of champagne and doeskin for the walls, carpeting and tile in the gourmet kitchen, which includes an island and solid surface countertops in a faux travertine.
The master bedroom, decorated in celadon green with cream and cocoa accents, is spacious and elegant. It features a mahogany Queen Anne style antique bed along with a dresser and nightstand. A dramatic shaded lamp with silver and gold accents offers a distinctive design element. The master bath is so large there is room for a custom designed 48-inch round ottoman in addition to the soaking tub and walk-in shower. The bath feature 18-inch porcelain tile and a decorative tile pattern on the wall.
One bedroom is inviting for children with its nautical theme. There is a louvered headboard with life preserver and anchor over the bed. The coverlet and bedskirt highlights boats and flags. Accent pillows are trimmed with nautical ropes and knots. The window valences feature individual pockets to hold decorative large plastic boats.
Another bedroom highlights a golfing theme with a custom upholstered headboard and hand-painted dresser. The large upstairs bonus room has a vaulted ceiling and also features a nautical theme. The sofa is covered in a ticking stripe fabric offset by sailboat pillows. The coffee table is a steamer trunk, an accent wicker chair is covered in a boating tapestry and a hand-painted chair-sized chest continues the nautical motif. There is also an entertainment center and game table with chairs set up for a game of chess. The room is decorated in vintage signs and artifacts that carry the theme.
The full bonus bath has neutral wall coverings, champagne cabinetry, cultured marble countertops, and a custom-designed shower curtain. The outdoor living area of the home has a large lanai to the rear with soft taupe and grey pavers, a table and six chairs and a summer kitchen for outdoor entertaining.
The Chatham model features classic Key West elements that appeal to everyone. The home is decorated in soft putty with sage green, russet and golden accents.
The home is built around the great room, which features a tray ceiling that coffers up and adds architectural detailing and interest. The dining room has richly textured wall coverings and a table seating for six. The host chairs are designed with a tapestry overlay on an oval shield back while the accent chairs are fully upholstered. “More formal accent chairs and less formal host chairs provide a nice contrast,” Sisler Johnston said.
Textured walls highlight the kitchen’s white cabinets and laminate countertops. There is a nook area as well as a counter for eating. Sisler Johnston used a lot of baskets on the room’s built-in plant shelves and placemats made out of twigs woven together to reinforce the Island theme.
The master bedroom, decorated in soft sage and jade, features a King size poster bed with woven caning overlay on the headboard. The cascading swag window treatments frame every window and provide a dramatic backdrop for the bed. Faux finished wall coverings and a strong interplay of color and texture in fabrics adds interest. The bedcover highlights three coordinating fabrics including an unusual toile pattern with multiple pastel colors in the fabric instead of the traditional two colors. The master bedroom also has two lounge chairs and an ottoman finished in a deep brown tone wicker.
Other bedrooms in this home highlight an old beach cottage motif and a fun fishing theme. The bath, which serves these bedrooms as well as the pool and lanai, highlights a Key West travel theme.
The Poinsianna features a more formal European motif with a focus on relaxed elegance. The décor highlights a nice balance of color and contrast in its cherry toned furnishings, iron accents and warm tapestry fabrics through the home.
Sisler Johnston established textured detail in the living room with a chenille sofa in a rich jade tone offset by Italian tapestries and soft goods in green and golden tones with burgundy accents. The living room and dining room furnishings have European styling in a cherry finish. The home flows into the gourmet kitchen where cherry-toned cabinets complement granite countertops offset by a tumbled stone backsplash.
The generous sized formal dining room features table seating for six to eight. There are four carved accent chairs with upholstered and wood detail along with two upholstered host chairs highlighted by tapestry scarf accents. The dining room also has a large sideboard and iron hutch to showcase collectables.
The kitchen has extensive storage and display space with a large walk-in pantry, tiered plant shelves and shelf space over cabinets. The family room is ideal for relaxing with its large entertainment center and big screen plasma TV. Entertainment extends outside the home with a large covered porch on the first floor merchandised with a family-sized table and chairs. The area includes a built-in summer kitchen and outdoor access cabana bath.
The home has two bedrooms and two bonus rooms upstairs. The bonus room in the rear of the house highlights a sports theme reinforced with a border wallpaper that sits along the chair rail and has deeper painted color tones below and lighter color tones above. Sisler Johnston says this is a cost effective technique to add color and style without the expense of wallcoverings. This entertainment room is equipped with a wet bar, big screened TV and two oversized chairs with ottomans. There is also an upstairs covered porch adjacent to this room.
The other bonus room is situated over the garage and is shown as a grandchild’s bedroom. It features a boating theme showcased in sailboat fabrics, a custom-made headboard to look like the sail and mast of a ship, hand-painted chest and floor lamp shaped like an oar.
