SISLER JOHNSTON INTERIOR DESIGN COMPLETES
BRYLEN HOMES MODEL AT AMELIA PARK

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA - Sisler Johnston Interior Design has completed the installation of The Charleston Side Yard, a new model home by Brylen Homes designed by The Evans Group of Orlando.

"I enjoy working on plans designed by this architectural group and built by Brylen Homes," said Judith Sisler Johnston, president of Sisler Johnston Interior Design and ASID Allied Member. "The architect and the builder are both sensitive to lifestyle choices and offer a variety of interesting features in every room. The home has no dark corners. Each space is full of sunshine and cheer."

The Charleston is a two-story, four bedroom side-entry home with a front porch that wraps the entry with southern charm. The outdoor wicker furniture has comfortable stuffed cushions in a subtle Island traditional small print fabric. Painted in an espresso finish, it compliments the aged brick porch accents. The home's outdoor and indoor spaces flow easily from one to the other.

As part of the window designs for the home, Sisler Johnston fabricated cornices with stained matchstick blinds and island patterned fabrics to reinforce the classic coastal theme. The living room, dining room, family room and kitchen have 18" noche stone floors. Area rugs in the entertainment areas provide warmth and add definition to those spaces.

The living room and dining room furniture stain is a mellow pecan. Fabric accents are in chocolate, cherry and apple green. Picture moulding on the dining room and living room walls have a deep sienna tone and serve as a dramatic backdrop for art and mirrors.

The fireplace is the centerpiece of the family room. A plasma television is shown above
the painted wood mantle. Custom cabinetry and drywall space framing create an interesting entertainment wall with shelves to display accessories and cabinets to store movies. Two-inch tumbled noche mosaics surround the fireplace. A built-in computer station adds an amenity to the wall opposite the breakfast room.

To compliment the furniture and fabrics in the entertainment hub (kitchen, breakfast room and family room), Sisler Johnston chose a safari green accent paint for the fireplace wall to reflect the relaxed island lifestyle.Textured fabrics, contrasting tropical prints and leather upholstery on traditional tobacco wood frames lend richness to their surroundings.

Ginger maple cabinetry is used throughout the home with Italian granite counter tops. A breakfast bar easily accommodates three or four. Decorative mini pendant lights in iron and European scavo glass highlight the breakfast bar.

The master bedroom suite is on the first floor and truly lives up to its name with its capacity for a king bed, entertainment armoire and comfortable lounge chairs in the sitting area. The master bath has a walk-in shower and oval whirlpool tub. The floor, deck and walls have been overlaid with natural noche tiles, mosaic accents and deco tiles in primitive shell relic imprints. Custom fabrics add flair to the windows and custom patterned area rugs warm the floors.

The powder room walls are wainscoted in noche tile with mosaic accents up to a 36" height on all walls. A free standing antique reproduction furniture piece was used in place of a pedestal sink.

Sisler Johnston also designed the picture moulding painted architectural accents in the living room and dining room to continue up the stairwell and into the open family bonus loft on the second floor. The bonus loft is a place for the family to enjoy board games or the home entertainment center.

The Charleston model reflects its floor plan name and reminds visitors of charming, historic homes in Charleston and Savannah, as does the Amelia Park community as a whole. The land planning and streetscape was also designed by The Evans Group after the town center community model. Now that it is a mature community in its final phases, one can appreciate the fruits of good community design as one enters the community with its lush landscaping and cozy streetscape. Most homes in the community have large porches to encourage visits from neighbors. Many of the homes have "granny flats" adjacent to or above the rear alley garages.
