JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA – Sisler Johnston Interior Design has completed the installation of The Barcelona, Brylen Homes’ townhome model at Palencia Village. The exquisite townhomes have been designed by The Evans Group architects and are reminiscent of historic Spanish Colonial design.

“These townhomes feature an exceptional floor plan,” said Judith Sisler Johnston, president and ASID Allied Member. “This is a wonderful home. The architect and builder did an excellent job of making this well designed attached townhome feel like a large custom home.”

The home’s open and spacious design is decorated in savory green and cinnamon rust tones with black as a dramatic accent.

A striking doeskin colored porcelain tile laid on a diagonal covers most of the first floor. Sisler Johnston used Persian rugs in the open living room/dining room area to define the space. Imported tapestry fabrics complement the Persian rugs.

The open room also contains a beautiful stone table with an iron base and mosaic inlay. A large neo-classic étagère featuring a rich mahogany finish provides a setting to display photographs and accessories.

“One of the challenges for me as the designer was to re-work furnishings from a previous model home in Queen’s Harbour for the purpose of cost effectiveness,” Sisler Johnston said. “By changing the fabrics and the accessories I gave this model an entirely new look. I am pleased that the pieces I previously selected are so classic in style that they are still as appealing today as they were three years ago.”

The living room/dining room area opens into the gourmet kitchen featuring custom cabinetry in deep cappuccino tones and granite countertops highlighted by a tumbled marbled backsplash.

The master suite is also located on the first floor and reflects a neutral palette of color tones in the paint, trim and carpeting. The master bedroom features a Camden Hall traditional King poster bed and comfortable seating area. The spacious master bath has a double vanity, walk-in shower, elevated Jacuzzi tub highlighted by tile patterning and a silver guilded, carved wood mirror.

A decorative stairway opens onto a double sized bonus room upstairs containing a billiards table, entertainment center with sofa, lounge chair and accent tables, and a spacious well-equipped entertainment kitchen with granite countertops, porcelain tile and custom cabinetry.

There are also two generous sized bedrooms upstairs. One features a Key West tropical motif with fluted rattan headboards on twin beds accompanied by a coordinated rattan and wicker dresser and an iron accent mirror. The other bedroom has a queen-sized bed with an iron bed. A hand-painted dresser highlights a Verde marble top and Verde green accents throughout the room complete the space. This bedroom opens to the upstairs bath, which has a tub and shower and plenty of cabinets.

The Village townhomes feature a quaint courtyard area in the rear of the home and also offers detached garages with optional granny flats over the garage. The flat features a large combination room that is outfitted with a King size bed, entertainment center, his and her comfortable chairs, full bath and mini kitchen. Sisler Johnston designed the flat with custom window treatments, bedding and pillows.

In addition to decorating Brylen Homes’ model, Sisler Johnston also provides residential design services to their buyers. Senior Residential Designer Cheryl Martin meets with each homebuyer and assists with their standard and custom selections.
