SISLER JOHNSTON INTERIOR DESIGN COMPLETES
TWO MODELS AT BAYMEADOWS APARTMENTS

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA - Sisler Johnston Interior Design has completed the installation of two apartment home models at Baymeadows Apartments, an established and expansive apartment community on the Southside. In addition, Sisler Johnston Interior Design met and exceeded the challenge presented by AIMCO, the apartment's management company.

They required the re-design of the two models from concept to completion in less than three weeks. AIMCO wanted the models to be ready for corporate visitors as well as prospective residents traveling to Jacksonville for Super Bowl festivities.

"I like a challenge," said Judith Sisler Johnston, president of Sisler Johnston Interior Design and ASID Allied Member. "We were able to meet their intensive time frame and complete both models before the president of the company arrived in town for the Super Bowl."

In order to maintain the community's competitive edge, AMICO completely renovated residences with new cabinetry and faux granite countertops. New ceramic floors replace vinyl flooring in the entry, kitchen and baths in the spacious apartments.

Sisler Johnston completed a one-bedroom model designed to appeal to singles and a two-bedroom model for a family. The one-bedroom model provided another challenge as the design must appeal to both men and women.

For the living room, Sisler Johnston selected an eclectic mix of furnishings, including a black leather sofa, a lounge chair in warm textured taupe with coffee and end tables in an espresso mahogany finish. The living room also includes an entertainment center with surrounding bookcases suitable for a plasma television. In the dining room, Sisler Johnston paired a glass top table with an iron and stone wine rack server. Mirrors, including a large floor length mirror hung horizontally, to elongate the area visually.

Throughout the model, Sisler Johnston carried the black and taupe color theme, adding bursts of colors with accent shades of sage and cinnamon. All of the apartments include verticals and mini-blinds, however Sisler Johnston added neutral silk window treatments in a large taupe and cream check as a decorative surround.

The large master bedroom suite has a platform Queen bed accompanied by a 36-inch chest on one side that provides additional storage and a floor lamp on the other. The bedroom also has a triple dresser paired with an oversized round decorative mirror as well as a lounge chair and seven-foot silk tree. Full length neutral window panels create a custom home atmosphere. Sisler Johnston completed the room with taupe linen bedcoverings paired with accent pillows in cinnamon, sage and black.

The two-bedroom model is merchandised with the family market in mind in shades of wheat, coral and celadon with black accents. The entry foyer is highlighted by a handpainted chest with a palm tree relief. The large living area includes a sofa, loveseat, sofa table, end table, chairside chest and entertainment center. All of the furnishings feature lighter wood tones. The sofa and love seat have a woven gold textured fabric accompanied by accent pillows in black, coral, celadon and a dramatic tropical pattern for an added punch of color. The dining room has a rectangular marble top table paired with upholstered chairs and will accommodate up to six. The open kitchen highlights stylish black appliances which provide strong contrast against the faux granite countertops and light cherry cabinetry. Neutral yet dramatic window treatments complete the look.

The master bedroom is spacious and accommodates a king poster bed featuring pineapple finials, the symbol of southern hospitality. Sisler Johnston selected furnishings from the Tommy Bahama signature collection in a honey wood tone. The bedding has a celadon coverlet highlighted by decorative shams in a tropical pattern. Accent pillows are fringed and corded in shades of chocolate and teal. The sitting area includes a lounge chair featuring toast-color chenille in a tone-on-tone pattern. The secondary bedroom is merchandised for a young boy with a loft bed unit that includes two beds, a dresser and a desk with computer work station. The unit is merchandised with a sports chair as well as task lighting. The beds are covered in blue demin paired with demin striped bedskirts in shades of red, yellow, green and blue. Solid accent pillows are highlighted with buttons. A framed print features every kind of sports ball and decorative hooks for hats and shoes provide storage solutions as well as added décor.
