JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA – The design team at Sisler Johnston Interior Design won a prestigious Interior Design Aurora Award for the Island House at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club.

The Aurora Awards is the premier building and design competition for builders, developers, architects, interior designers, and other industry professionals in a 12-state region in the southeastern United States. This year's competition received a record 445 entries. Winners were honored at the Southeast Building Conference in Orlando.

Sisler Johnston designed and merchandised 28 luxurious guest rooms and suites at the Island House, which overlooks the golf course's famous 9th hole and lagoons at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club. The rooms are spacious and feature patios or balconies offering beautiful views of the lagoon.

The Island House features a crisp, tailored style highlighting deeper wood tones and finishes on the room's shutters, doors and custom cabinetry. The interior design highlights a tropical Key West-inspired motif using environmental colors and earth tones, including caramel, russet, khaki and green. Most of the furniture is custom made, including the room's signature king sized beds with custom headboards, footboards and side rails. The bathrooms have marble and granite stone imported from Italy and the windows all have multilayered decorative treatments.

Designed for the comfort and convenience of traveling professionals, many of the rooms offer fireplaces, entertainment centers with state of the art equipment and desks with high speed internet access. Built in 1928, The Ponte Vedra Inn & Club has a five diamond rating from the Automobile Association of America.
