JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA - Sisler Johnston Interior Design has completed the installation of The Drake model home by Centex Homes at Miravista at Harbortown, a new marina community on the Intracoastal Waterway.

"The Drake is a well-planned design," said Judith Sisler Johnston, president of Sisler Johnston Interior Design and ASID Allied Member. "We incorporated a nautical theme to showcase all this condominium has to offer as well as the fabulous lifestyle Miravista residents will enjoy."

Miravista's architectural style reflects a soft Mediterranean ambiance. Each five-story building is crowned with a barrel tile roof and includes three distinctive floor plans that offer open, light-filled rooms, spacious great rooms and gourmet kitchens. The Drake is a three bedroom, two bathroom residence with 1,690 square feet of living space.

The generous sized great room is open to both the kitchen and lanai. An oversized sofa with attached chaise in a neutral chenille fabric, accented with solid red and navy blue pillows, dominates the living area. Two lounge chairs of mahogany rattan complete the seating. The cocktail and end tables lend tailored simplicity and the entire grouping is elegantly positioned around a large sisal area rug. The 18-inch tile floors extend from the entry foyer into the kitchen and living areas. The entertainment center has a bookcase surround with a low base cabinet for storage. Its minimally deep top houses a plasma screen television.

Sailing ships adorn the window treatments as well as the mahogany-framed prints that embellish the walls. Architectural cornices span the sliding door to the lanai and are covered in a subtle stripe with the sailboat stencil as an accent. The cornice is trimmed in red cord and punctuated with nautical knots.

In the dining area, a 60-inch round table is surrounded by six chairs. The two host chairs are upholstered and feature stenciled sails over a South Seas blue background. The four guest chairs have wooden backs with a palm leaf design. A delicately carved demi-lune server is framed above with an octagonal mirror featuring inlayed pieces of mahogany and rattan. A free-standing wine rack is topped with an ice bucket shaped like a rowboat. Two crisp white moulded shelves display nautical accessories.

In the gourmet kitchen, a charcoal blue textured wall covering provides a rich contrast to the natural maple cabinetry and Italian granite countertops and breakfast bar.

One of The Drake's three bedrooms works interchangeably as a den. It is dressed in shades of cream with navy blue accents. Sisler Johnston used a boating theme border at a 36-inch chair height topped by a small print nautical flag wall covering. The windows are covered with layered khaki and toasted beige draperies, making the space warm and inviting. A leather chair and ottoman is paired with a boating anchor accent table and lamp. A free standing telescope does double duty as a floor lamp.

The master bedroom is luxuriously designed in neutral shades with an accent wall painted in cocoa. Sisler Johnston chose mahogany wood furnishings, including a King-sized bed as well as a large comfortable honey wicker lounge chair with a textured green seat and back cushion. A fluffy comforter tops the bed, which is dressed with a subtle striped bed skirt in shades of light cocoa, cinnamon, teal and evergreen. Decorative pillows and fully coordinated window treatments paired with matchstick blinds create a pleasing look.

The large guest room features soothing shades of cream with sunny yellow and South Seas blue accents. Two cubed bed benches accompany a Queen-sized bed with a bold striped bed skirt. A striking tapestry fabric with tropical fish adds gusto as accents to the bed's decorative pillows and shams and the room's window treatments.

Miravista at Harbortown by Centex Homes is located off of Atlantic Boulevard just west of the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge. The model home is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
