"The Cayman II includes the distinctive features usually associated with homes priced well over a million dollars," said Judith Sisler Johnston, president of Sisler Johnston Interior Design and ASID Allied Member. "ICI builds homes of great beauty and value."
The Cayman II has expansive 12-foot plus ceilings, which are found in the entry foyer, dining room, family room, kitchen and breakfast room.
"As a designer working with many floor plans, I have come to the conclusion that a 12-foot ceiling height is perfect when it comes to proportion and harmony," Sisler Johnston said. "This ceiling height is elegant and spacious, yet not overwhelming."
The living room, family room, breakfast room and master bedroom overlook the swimming pool and Jacuzzi. Sisler Johnston's selections showcase its beautiful views.
The living room features an expansive two-story ceiling. To create warmth as well as showcase artwork, Sisler Johnston added architectural moulding at a 12-foot height on the sofa wall. Textured wall coverings and a reproduction Persian carpet add interest and warmth to the room. Accent pillows provide contrast to a textured silk sofa paired with a suede slipper chair. The living room features a striking antique reproduction bookcase and console.
Gracious pillars separate the dining room from the adjacent living room. The dining room features a large palladium window and a tiered ceiling which the designer accented in a rich cocoa tone. An estate-sized, full-length mirror reflects light and ties the two rooms together. A mansion-size chandelier illuminates the dining room table, which has oversized carved mahogany upholstered host chairs paired with open carved wood side chairs.
The family room is designed for relaxation with the fireplace as its showpiece. The fireplace features an exceptional millwork design with layered moulding, built-in bookcases on either side and a plasma screen television above. A natural sisal area rug outlined with dark sage defines the seating area, which includes a sectional sofa and loveseat. A carved wood table behind the sectional sofa adds definition to the space.
To compliment the ginger maple cabinetry, stainless steel appliances and rich green granite countertops in the kitchen and breakfast room, Sisler Johnston chose natural rattan accents paired with a tropical fabric for the breakfast bar chairs and cascading window treatments, adding textured wallcoverings and matchstick blinds.
Beautiful millwork showcasing books and accessories surrounds the palladium window in the study. The room has a 36-inch high wainscot. A rich caramel wall covering with a historic map relief was added above the wainscot. A golden tone area rug adds warmth to the rich cherry plank floor. The free standing mahogany desk has a functioning computer and is surrounded by antique radio and camera lifestyle accessories.
The master bedroom and bathroom are very dramatic. The bathroom centerpiece is a Jacuzzi tub encased with columns and highlighted by cascading plants. In addition to the spa-like amenities, it offers a separate room equipped for exercise. The space could also be used for a massage table. The bedroom has a king-sized sleigh bed and a mahogany bergere chair in the sitting area, which has a vaulted tiered ceiling. Flowing, sheer window treatments with French bouillion trim add elegance and layering to the decor.
The first floor also contains two secondary bedrooms, which were designed for children. One features a sports theme in a denim blue with red accents. The other room was painted a rich seafoam green to contrast with the white cottage revival style
furnishings. These two rooms highlight the secondary color tones of the home's overall color pallet. They share a bath and a spacious private homework area with exceptional built-in cabinetry.
The model features double bonus rooms upstairs. One is designed as an elegant guest suite and features a vaulted ceiling and a wall of windows filling the space with light. The other bonus room opens to the downstairs living room and is designed as a game room with a billards table, wet bar and dart board. The second level also includes a 12' lifestyle wall of interest with drywall niche shelving to display books and accessories. Although they usually honor just one room, the entire second floor received a blue ribbon award from the Tampa Homebuilders Association's Parade of Home judges for its many distinctive features.
The home's striking exterior is in soft neutral tones with a sugar-sand colored stucco and a terra cotta finish roof. ICI added stacked stone accents and terra cotta pavers. The home has a lush landscaping design.
"It is truly unusual to find so many custom design features in a home that is in this price range," Sisler Johnston said. "I think everyone who has an opportunity should visit The Cayman II."
