SISLER JOHNSTON INTERIOR DESIGN COMPLETES
PATIO HOME MODEL AT FLEET LANDING

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA – Sisler Johnston Interior Design has completed the installation of the patio home model at Fleet Landing in Atlantic Beach.

“These spacious patio homes offer residents all the benefits of living in a single family home without the burden of maintenance and also include the advantages of the O Club dining, recreation and social opportunities,” said Judith Sisler Johnston, president, Sisler Johnston Interior Design and ASID Allied Member.  “Residents have the security of knowing that additional care is available within the same familiar community should their needs require it.”

Fleet Landing’s patio homes have Mediterranean-style architecture with terra cotta barrel tile roof, smooth stucco exterior, a courtyard entry feature with interlocking pavers and attached garages.  The two-bedroom, two-bath floorplans include an imagination room adjacent to the great room that can be used as a Florida room, a home office, den, or morning sun room.  It is furnished as a home office/den in this model.

The kitchens have ceramic tile floors, white raised panel cabinets, a storage pantry and breakfast area that seats four.  An open breakfast bar accommodates two bar stools.  Sisler Johnston chose a delightful wild strawberry color for the kitchen walls to contrast with the light furnishings and window dressings.

Sisler Johnston selected an eclectic blend of furnishings ranging from French country to Florida casual.  The wood tones are walnut mahogany and honey while the upholstery is in light sand tones.  The patterned fabrics introduce the strawberry and sage colors that run throughout the home.  Striking framed art, silk trees and accessories combine throughout the home to create warm, inviting spaces.

The great room has cherry plank floors and includes a formal dining area for six and a large entertainment space graciously defined with an ivory area carpet from India.  The wild strawberry accent color established in the kitchen walls is expressed in the fabric accents and hand-painted armoire in the great room.

Adjacent to the great room, the imagination room/home office includes a comfortable sitting area with lounge chairs and ottomans to view the large, wall mounted plasma screen TV.
The master bedroom has French country mahogany furniture.  Celadon and sage silk atop chenille bed coverings lend elegance to the room.  A decorative bronze gilded rod holds cascading geometric patterned window draperies.  The jabots have long bouillon fringe and frame the double bay window.  A round beveled glass mirror hangs above the triple dresser.  It has a gilded frame of overlapping leaves and makes a distinctive artistic statement.

The guest bedroom has been equipped with comfortable twin beds dressed in fabrics and furnishings that reflect the golfing interests of many Fleet Landing residents.  A hand-painted dresser and night stand have historic golf course scenes while the framed art and accessories demonstrate the love of a golfing lifestyle.

In addition to the ample closet space, a storage area adjacent to the guest room was recaptured into living space and shown as an exercise nook.  It is equipped with an exercise bike, towel, water bottle and exercise themed framed art.

For the active adult, Fleet Landing is a resort community with a fully equipped fitness center, 25-meter heated outdoor pool and tennis courts.  The community center is the gathering place for clubs, programs, special events, and activities.  Residents enjoy gourmet dining options on site and transportation services are also available.  Fleet Landing is an accredited not-for-profit life care community that offers independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing care.  Fleet Landing’s continuum of care makes it possible to remain in the community as health care needs change.

“I’ve always appreciated the site planning, landscape details and active lifestyle offerings that set Fleet Landing apart from other communities for seniors,” Sisler Johnston said.  “It is ideally designed so that residents can age in place.”
