PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Florida – Judith Sisler Johnston,
president of Sisler Johnston Interior Design and ASID allied
member, was honored with a special gift of appreciation from
Angelwood, a Jacksonville nonprofit organization providing
support for children and adults with disabilities and their
families.
Sisler Johnston was recognized by Angelwood for her contributions
to the organization. Initially,
she assisted Builders Care with major renovations and repairs to two Angelwood
group homes. In addition to helping with renovations to make both residences
handicapped-accessible, Sisler Johnston outfitted the homes for Angelwood residents
and also equipped a respite room designed for caregivers. Sisler Johnston
donated area rugs, window treatments, office furniture, fabrics and other décor
in addition to her time and design expertise. Following the completion
of these Builders Care projects, Sisler Johnston has continued to support Angelwood.
Angelwood presented Sisler Johnston with a framed fine art print entitled “Embracing
Wings” by celebrated Ponte Vedra Beach artist Susanne Schuenke. The
presentation took place during Angelwood’s largest fundraiser, an annual
fashion show and luncheon at the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa. Angelwood
Executive Director Diane Tuttle says the artwork is symbolic of angels protecting
children with special needs.
“Judith has been very gracious to our organization and has helped us make
our group homes more like home,” Tuttle said. “The gift is
our way to thank in people in the community who are like angels to us.”
