JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Sisler Johnston Interior Design
has produced an environmentally friendly corporate office
environment for GreenPointe Holdings, a newly announced development
company headquartered in Jacksonville. GreenPointe
Holdings will focus on building eco-friendly, master-planned
communities throughout the Southeast and Texas in addition
to coordinating public/private partnerships to build infrastructure.
“My challenge was to provide the company with a corporate persona consistent
with its focus on developing sustainable communities with green building practices,” said
Judith Sisler Johnston, president of Sisler Johnston Interior Design and ASID
allied member. “GreenPointe Holdings President and Chief Executive
Officer Ed Burr wanted to make the office as environmentally friendly as possible
with regard to its finishes, furnishings and operational efficiency.”
Sisler Johnston Interior Design is an active member of the U.S. Green Building
Council and knowledgeable regarding sustainable, renewable and recycled products,
finishes and selections. Sisler Johnston Interior Design worked closely
with the architects from Powers Design Group to plan spaces that suit the developer’s
needs.
Burr wanted the reception area to be warm and inviting so Sisler Johnston selected
porcelain tile flooring in shades of warm caramel. The team working on
the GreenPointe Holdings office designed a curved reception counter to accommodate
a small refrigerator so clients could enjoy a cold drink upon arrival. Brown
walnut panels were chosen for the façade with Italian granite tops. The
reception area chairs feature faux reptile upholstery with brushed cotton chenille
cushions.
After securing the natural stone for the reception area, Sisler Johnston selected
carpeting from Bentley Prince Street. The manufacturer’s Cool Carpet
product line is the industry’s first climate neutral carpet program and
has received environmentally preferable product certification from a third-party. The
carpet collection includes a textural blend of basil, bark and wheat tones. Sisler
Johnston selected a natural leaf pattern to enhance the conference room setting.

The conference room features a custom-designed natural Italian
granite conference table accompanied by bark brown leather
chairs. State-of-the-art, high-
definition multi-media equipment provides video conferencing capabilities. The
adjacent catering kitchen is fully equipped with Energy Star appliances. Decorative
lighting and recessed lighting fixtures throughout are equipped
with energy efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs.
The executive office suite’s hand-tooled wood floor is made of reclaimed
materials. A faux finish adds texture to the neutral organic painted walls. The
sofa is a mix of leather and cotton velvet upholstery. An
organic wool area carpet from India defines the seating area
while natural yarn woven draperies provide warmth and privacy.
GreenPointe Holdings’ warm wheat colored walls are accented by occasional
aquamarine color accents. Sisler Johnston selected Sherwin Williams’ Harmony
interior paint. The product carries the company’s
GreenSure designation given to products that minimize the
impact on air quality.
Two open office areas were designed using ergonomic furnishing
systems in finishes that coordinate with their surroundings. The
bathrooms include natural stone flooring and walls, and plumbing
fixtures with water-saving features.
“The green and sustainable interior design of GreenPointe Holdings
reflects the company’s mission and demonstrates that it is possible to
create beautiful and healthy spaces while respecting the environment,” Sisler
Johnston said.
