JACKSONVILLE, Judith Sisler Johnston, president, Sisler Johnston Interior Design and ASID Allied Member, has been recognized by Fine Furnishings International (FFI) magazine as one of the nation's top interior designers.

Sisler Johnston was among three designers named as FFI Prima Awards Best Interior Designer of 2006. Her interior design work was featured in the magazine's May/June issue.

Sisler Johnston received the recognition for her work on a custom home chosen by the Volusia County Parade of Homes as its showhome centerpiece. Priced at more than $2 million, the home is designed with exceptionally fine furnishings and finishes from around the world. Subtle sage, warm honey and dramatic tangerine accents combine for elegant, pleasing results.

The 2006 Prima award winners were selected by a committee of five industry leaders and announced during an FFI industry event in Washington, D.C. In addition to Best Interior Designer, awards were presented in the categories of Best Product, Best Artist, Best Lighting, Best Casegood Piece, Best Upholstery, Best Accessory and Best Sustainable Product.

Industry leaders, manufacturers, designers, design students and others who serve the industry were asked to nominate designs that brought new energy and influence to design while representing its fundamentals and principles. FFI hosts the competition to reward great design and those who commit the resources, develop the inspiration and take the risk to create excellence in interior design.
