PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Florida – The work of Sisler Johnston Interior Design shines at the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club’s Beach House, one of 10 charming Florida-style buildings offering guest accommodations at the luxury resort. The entire Beach House building, which contains 16 guest rooms and four guest suites, has been renovated with improvements to the bathrooms, dressing rooms and refreshment bars.
“In keeping with Ponte Vedra Inn and Club’s Five Diamond Award status, I selected unique golden 18-inch Flavio Italian limestone for the entry foyer, dressing area, bathroom, and water closet flooring,” said Judith Sisler Johnston, president, Sisler Johnston Interior Design and ASID Allied Member. “I recommend that the tile be installed on a diagonal to visually expand the spaces.”
For the bathrooms, Sisler Johnston selected the same stone in a 12-inch size to use in the showers and the walls surrounding the soaking tubs as part of a pattern with a small tumbled noche mosaic wainscot banding. She added Juparana Falesia Italian granite with an ogee furniture edge detail and individually framed mirrors in bronze with a distressed finish. To complete the design, Sisler Johnston incorporated complementary sconce lighting above each mirror and added raised panel cabinetry in cherry with a chocolate glaze featuring antique nickel hardware. Double sand-colored cast enamel undermount sinks were added to the vanity areas and water closets.
The guest rooms have been painted soft sea green with faux grasscloth wall coverings added to the bath areas. The carpeting contains golden hues to complement the stone flooring while decorative ceiling lights and ceiling fans add functional style. The windows have been draped in a subtle paisley print and pleated cornices have contrasting green banding.
Sisler Johnston selected classic European-style furnishings with walnut finishes, including soft arch headboards and tailored low profile footboards. The gathered bed skirts, shams and throw pillows feature a paisley print with green accents. Ponte Vedra Inn and Club guests also enjoy large flat screen televisions in each room as well as wall-mounted flat screen televisions in the bathrooms.
All of the framed art was custom designed and each piece is signed and numbered by the artist. Sisler Johnston says the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club’s management works with the designers to provide guests with luxury accommodations down to the smallest detail, such as custom soap dishes and beautifully upholstered vanity stools.
The guest suites, which have a full living room, kitchen and bath, were designed in a cinnamon, wheat and sea green tropical color palette with the Tommy Bahama Rumba Del Sol signature series furniture collection. The suites are located oceanfront in the building’s north and south end and offer panoramic views from all rooms. Because of the extraordinary window expanse, Sisler Johnston chose draperies with a textured neutral woven wicker pattern. The neutral cornices are accented with imported rope tassel and brushed fringe embellishments to create an interesting geometric design.
The suites include a breakfast bar accompanied by bar chairs in a relaxed regency walnut with leather seats and bronze nail head trim. Each suite has a full size desk and high-speed Internet access to accommodate business travelers. The guest chairs have Spanish Colonial styling and feature custom tropical patterned upholstery.
