SISLER JOHNSTON INTERIOR DESIGN COMPLETES
ICI’S CAYMAN II MODEL AT AMELIA NATIONAL

FERNANDINA BEACH, Florida – Sisler Johnston Interior Design has completed the installation of ICI Homes’ Cayman II model at Amelia National Golf and Country Club in Fernandina Beach.
The Cayman II is an estate-sized family home with three bedrooms plus a home office on the first floor and two bonus rooms and baths on the second floor.  The home office, formal living and dining rooms are adjacent to the wide entry foyer.  An open bonus loft overlooks the living room.  Sisler Johnston used warm wheat colored paint and selected rich mahogany wood for the flooring and furniture pieces in most of the entertainment areas.

“I designed this home to showcase some of the contemporary furnishings that have become so relevant,” said Judith Sisler Johnston, president, Sisler Johnston Interior Design and ASID Allied Member.  “The creative inspiration for this home is a result of sourcing a new Beau Nouveau group.  I’d previewed it at market and decided that the Cayman II would be the perfect fit with its contemporary ceiling heights and open floor plan.  I always try to customize national trends to suit the local market and complement the features of the home.”

Throughout the home, Sisler Johnston selected brushed nickel, circular in design, decorative hardware for the rich dark wood furniture.  In the dining room, the sideboard server has been completely silver leafed to complement the hardware.  The home’s formal areas richly represent what is to come in each of the remaining rooms.

In the living room, Sisler Johnston chose an Asian-style étagère and filled it with large scale ceramic pieces.  The sofa fabric is wheat textured silk accented with contemporary wheat and black plaids.  The sofa pillows have a large scale pattern while the draperies, which have black banded accents, showcase a small scale grid pattern.  One of the living room lounge chairs is in a wheat and black wide wale corduroy velvet with beaded trim applied to the bottom edge to add sparkle.

The home office has stunning built-in bookcases surrounding a palladian window.  The room has a wet bar with granite countertops and mirrored glass racks above.  The home office has a wainscot of mahogany beadboard below with a chair height border of antique sailing ships.  The textured walls above have antique navigational maps.

To build on the wheat and black palette established in the formal areas, Sisler Johnston added moss green wallcoverings to the kitchen, breakfast room and family room walls.  The kitchen has cherry cabinets with brushed nickel hardware and Santa Rita golden granite countertops.  The family room includes a gas fireplace with a mahogany and granite mantle surrounded by millwork cabinets.  The window wall and the transom above the fireplace wall flood the room with light.

The master bedroom suite includes an alcove with an arched art niche.  Sisler Johnston used four inch golden tumbled travertine on the back wall and mounted a Regency period clock for ornamentation.  The luxurious master suite features contemporary silky wheat and burnished rust colored fabrics to complement the low profile platform bed.  The master suite also has suede cloth lounge chairs with a contrasting welt.  Instead of using a matching dressing table mirror, Sisler Johnston selected a round ornamental silver one.  The master suite has a separate dream dressing area with walls of mirrored closets and a three-panel, full-length mirrored niche.  The bath has a floating whirlpool tub encased with columns as its centerpiece.  Cabinets with ceiling height mirrors have butterfly green granite tops.  The bath has its own imagination room with a bay of windows.  It includes exercise bikes and a console for refreshments.

There are two other bedrooms on the first floor that share a bath.  One is painted lipstick pink for a young princess and has a painted trundle bed in winter white.  The other is ideal for a cycling enthusiast and has a full-sized bicycle mounted to the wall over the bed as an art piece.  The ceiling height border reinforces the cycling theme and travel posters featuring European bike races adorn the walls.

Even the laundry room is elegantly appointed with mahogany stained wainscot and cabinets.  Upstairs, the bonus loft has a billiards table, pub table, barstools, and a comfortable reading chair.  The fabrics and furniture have crisp, lean lines and floating cornice panels adorn the window treatments.  The second bonus room is designed as a guest suite.  It has a king sized upholstered bed, lounge chair, dresser and writing desk in mahogany solids with cane decorative panels and nickel hardware.  The guest suite also has a private bath.
This ICI Homes model is located at Amelia National, situated near State Road A1A on the Amelia Concourse in Fernandina Beach.  The gated community has a Tom Fazio-designed championship golf course, tennis, fitness and clubhouse facilities, and resort-style swimming pool.
