SISLER JOHNSTON INTERIOR DESIGN COMPLETE BRYLEN HOMES MODEL AT PORT ST. JOHN

JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Sisler Johnston Interior Design has completed the design of the latest Brylen Homes model at Port St. John, a luxury community located along the banks of the St. Johns River in northern St. Johns County.  The Huntington is a riverside estate home offering 3,525 square feet with four bedrooms, four full bathrooms and a bonus floor that has been designed for home theatre, poker and billiards.

The home has a formal living room and dining room with 12-foot ceiling heights, which are embellished with layered crown molding.  The dining room has a recessed serving console niche painted in a rich merlot to add depth and contrast.  A 54-inch tiered chandelier with Tuscan Mediterranean styling draws the eye up.  The dining collection includes fully upholstered host chairs in gold, eggplant and merlot silk tapestry fabric. The guest chairs have contrasting light sherry embroidered solid fabric.

The living room upholstery is a collage of complementary fabric patterns, colors and textures. A stately carved wood étagère displays collectables.  The table styles are reminiscent of exotic French and Moroccan imports.

The family space, consisting of the gourmet kitchen, breakfast and family room, has generous proportions, majestic window designs and vaulted ceilings.  To make the space more comfortable, Judith Sisler Johnston, president, Sisler Johnston Interior Design and ASID Allied Member, selected a subtle sage textured wall covering for every wall and suspended flowing drapery panels from bronze medallions at ceiling height.

“For layering purposes, I added short matte-finished bouillon fringes in a contrasting green to the tan panel’s tops and tie backs,” Sisler Johnston said.  “Everyone who enters this space has the same reaction -- ‘Sensational!’”

A large area rug defines the comfortable seating space.  A large flat screen Moroccan-inspired entertainment center opposes the seating area and offers equipment and bookcase storage.
A spacious home office is located off of the front entry foyer and accommodates a business-sized desk as well as a sofa and lounge chair seating group placed within a custom millwork surround of bookcase and accessory shelves.  The walls behind each shelf are painted in a summer savory shade to complement the fabric upholstery, which is enhanced by saddle leather accents and jumbo nail head trim.
The master suite is designed with expansive ceiling heights, molded trays and a bay of elongated windows.  Sisler Johnston chose a sophisticated coastal design for the walnut louvered bed and accent tables.  The bed coverings are in suede cloth.  Linen,

silk and tapestry details have been woven into the pillows, shams and Euro-styled cushions
This home has a nautical-inspired bedroom designed for a school-age sailing enthusiast, complete with a loft bed.  Another bedroom has cool blue stripes and dots for an aspiring fashion design student.

The stairway leading to the home’s bonus space has a stained wood hand rail and forged iron decorative pickets.  The bonus room space has been thoughtfully designed into activity centers that encourage family fun and entertainment.
A billiards room includes a wet bar and a game table.  The rest of the space is dedicated to the dramatic home theater, which is enjoyed in reclining leather lounge chairs situated at platform viewing height.  The platform has step lighting like a movie theatre and there is a pub counter with seating for enjoying refreshments and treats.
This family home includes special spaces for every family member. Even the family pet has a millwork home at the base of the custom designed back entry hall tree, which also stores backpacks and jackets.

“Brylen Homes’ talented staff designs and builds homes that are truly cutting edge in technology and design details,” Sisler Johnston said.  “As their interior design firm, our most important measure is the sales resulting from the model homes we design.  The Huntington has all the ingredients for success.”

Port St. John is located on State Road 13 approximately five miles south of the Julington Creek Bridge.
