SISLER JOHNSTON INTERIOR DESIGN COMPLETES ICI'S
CHARLESTON MODEL AT TIDEWATER

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA –

Sisler Johnston Interior Design has completed the installation of The Charleston by ICI Homes in Tidewater on Jacksonville’s Northside.

The Charleston is new to the ICI portfolio and designed specifically for the Tidewater community.  Homes feature Craftsman and coastal architectural elements that are influenced by Old Florida living.  The two-story, 3,005 square-foot family home has four bedrooms with the master suite on the main floor and includes an optional bonus room, which has been designed as a home theatre.

The Charleston has a three-car garage, wrap-around porch and tin roof accents.  The inviting exterior color is an earthy sage with dark Loden green accents.  The double story foyer has a majestic staircase and opens onto the dining room and two-story great room.  A rich, cherry plank flooring covers the foyer, powder room and entertainment areas.  The foyer is furnished with a cherry demi-lune console with black, hand-painted stencils.

The dining room includes millwork wainscot with chair rail and picture moulding.  “ICI provides this custom detail to its customers as a standard feature,” said Judith Sisler Johnston, president, Sisler Johnston Interior Design and ASID Allied Member.

In the dining room, Sisler Johnston chose distinctive furnishings in a distressed caramel stain.  The bow front console has a deep verde slate top and the trestle table has a wood inlay design.  The host chairs are in suede camel leather while the ladder-back side chairs have a Spanish Mediterranean flair.  A large leather mirror reflects the room’s generous proportions.

The great room’s expansive fireplace wall, which rises 22 feet, is stacked stone.  The high ceiling features a grid layout that has been accented with painted sage bead board inside the grids.  To meet ICI President Don Wilford’s request to have this home’s design reflect the warmth of a coastal fishing lodge, Sisler Johnston selected deep stained chunky brown cherry furnishings from Lane’s Eddie Bauer Signature collection.  A plaid accent chair in a blackberry, camel, sage and rust pattern provides contrast to the heavily textured neutral chenille sofa.  The wall coverings have botanical fern stencils while the eyebrow niche is accented in sage green.

The gourmet kitchen with island and morning room has a bronze metallic tile backsplash installed diagonally and brown cherry cabinets, which demonstrate some of the glass front options offered to ICI Home buyers.  The breakfast table has a black base with a brown cherry distressed wood top.  Sisler Johnston added custom touches to the color palette by painting the barstools and breakfast room chairs in matte black.

The powder room features a wall covering ensemble consisting of three distinctive papers, including a tapestry pattern that rises to the backsplash height border and a small print above the border.  A Persian accent carpet and custom framed aviary prints complete the elegant design.

A large bay of windows in the first floor master suite defines the seating area and the his and hers upholstered lounge chairs.  The king sized bed has leather inserts fastened with nail head trim, offering a handsome, rustic look.  The master bath has dramatic architectural details, including a stepped tray ceiling.  The elevated whirlpool bath is in the center of the room and separates the two vanities.  A window seat is covered with decorative pillows and the shower has built-in spa/sauna features.

The second story has a T-shaped bonus room which is zoned for a game table and home entertainment theatre seating.  During a framing walk through, Sisler Johnston recommended erecting a platform to create maximum viewing opportunities for the reclining theatre chairs.  To enhance the size of the bonus space, she kept the large furniture pieces consistent in tone and color with the carpeting and used a colorful print to communicate the theme in the game room and adjacent bath.

The upstairs also has three spacious bedrooms and three baths.  The boy’s room celebrates hunting and fishing.  The wall covering appears to be an authentic wide plank paneling.  The honey oak, double-tiered loft bed has camouflage fabric bed coverings and a built-in homework desk.

“There are no small secondary bedrooms in an ICI Home,” Sisler Johnston said.  “The Charleston’s secondary areas are as generous as the primary ones, making the home appeal to every member of the family.”

Tidewater is a gated community surrounded by the natural beauty of the Timucuan Preserve and the shores of Clapboard Creek.  The neighborhood recreation area includes a clubhouse with a resort style pool, tot lot and play courts.

Tidewater is located near I-95 and 9A.  To visit the model, travel east on Heckscher and north on New Berlin Road.  Turn right on Cedar Point Road.  Tidewater is on the right.
